It reeked enough havoc that it caused many residents to lose their homes due to toxins from an oil spill and black mold. We required FEMA to come out and help although many residents were unsatisfied with the results. Also it was sad to see that because flooding is considered an act of mother nature many homeowners were not able to cover the loss of their belongings and home through their insurance company. I was lucky enough that the only flooding we had was about 3 feet of water standing in our basement and while it did cause black mold on your basement floor and walls it was an easy cleanup because the walls and floor were both made of cement. There is never enough information on how deadly black molds can be. There were a lot of sick people during the flooding. Whether it was from the oil spill or black molds we will never know, but I believe both were just as equally a part of the problem.
